A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to invalid addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an out-of-date email address or has made a mistake. The drawback of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of unsolicited messages, but this problem can be solved by using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also essential to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound emails to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

Configuring a catch-all e-mailbox will be incredibly easy if you’ve got a website hosting with our company. You can activate this feature through our advanced, yet simple-to-work-with Email Manager tool, which is included in the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer your hosting account. You will see all the mailboxes that you have set up displayed in alphabetical order and next to each one there will be a tiny "Catch-all" icon, which will immediately show you whether a particular mailbox gets all the email messages associated with a given domain name or not. With a single click on the icon you can activate or deactivate the feature whenever you wish. In case there is active email forwarding or if another mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a certain domain name, you will get a warning notification from our system. The latter will not deactivate/replace anything automatically or without your consent.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all functionality can be activated with ease in case you have a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you’ve created using the domains hosted in your account will be displayed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll find a tiny sign handily located right next to each one. With only one single mouse click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choosing as long as there isn't another mailbox under the same domain name with this option already enabled and there isn't active email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and enable the feature using the contextual menu that will pop up. If any of the requirements for creating a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will inform you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
